Mechanic Work Time: 3 to 4 hours

A Mechanic will:

• Set up and configure your wireless network connection with your ISP
• Connect a wireless router to your ISP modem and update router firmware
• Change your SSID, administrator username (if applicable) and administrator password
• Enable wireless network encryption for added security
• Network 6 to 8 compatible computers or devices, including file and print servers, network-ready printers, TVs, home theater equipment, VoIP devices, game consoles, Apple TV, TiVo, media center extenders and Slingbox
• Test your wireless connection for proper functionality
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues, including reconfiguration and reconnection to the Internet (if applicable)

We will organize a central hub that is accessible from up to 5 computers, so that you can use and access files from your home server.

Mechanic Work Time: Over 5 hours

A Mechanic will:

• Set up a standard wireless network, including connecting up to 5 compatible computers
• Physically set up and configure a Windows Home Server device
• Configure automatic backup for up to 5 compatible computers
• Configure the ability for local network remote access from a single computer
• Perform cable management to keep all wires/cables as hidden as possible
• Set up basic file sharing on the Windows Home Server device for all computers
• Enable and verify media sharing with 1 compatible device
• Install and verify one hard drive to the Windows Home Server device
• Train you about how to access shared files from your computer, view the status of your network/computer backups and access the Windows Home Server remotely from a local computer
